When and where is Moogfest?
Moogfest is on Halloween weekend, October 28th, 29th, and 30th in beautiful downtown Asheville, NC. Costumes aren’t required, but if you’re feeling creative, go for it!
Is Moogfest an all-ages festival?
Yes, patrons of all ages are welcome but alcohol will only be served to those 21+ showing proper ID. There may be a few late night shows that are 21+ based on venue restrictions but information regarding those venues will be communicated as it becomes available. Tickets will be required for patrons of age 2 or older. If you do bring the little ones, we suggest earplugs and an afternoon nap.
When and where can I purchase tickets?
Tickets are available online via Ticketmaster through the Moogfest website, as well as through the Asheville Civic Center box office. The ACC box office is located at 87 Haywood Street, Asheville, NC 28801 and is open weekdays from 10 AM – 5 PM Eastern. You may purchase tickets via phone by calling (800) 745-3000.
Where do I Check-In if I have a weekend pass or or day ticket?
In order to redeem your General Admission Weekend Festival Pass or Single-Day Ticket for a wristband, you will need to visit festival check-in located in the Exhibition Hall of the Asheville Civic Center just off Hiawassee Street in downtown Asheville, NC* (please see map). What are the box office hours during Moogfest?
Thursday – 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

What are ticketing options?
All options, including GA weekend festival passes, VIP weekend passes, weekend Travel Packages and our new Payment Plan options are outlined here. Payment Plan offer expires August 5, 2011 at 11:59 p.m.
Will I be able to purchase tickets at the event?
Only if we still have tickets available, so to ensure access patrons are encouraged to purchase prior to the event. Plan ahead, it’s gonna be awesome!
What about tickets to 77 Million Paintings and Eno’s Illustrated Talk?
Both 77 Million Paintings and Eno’s Illustrated Talk will be separately ticketed events. The 77 Million Paintings exhibition will only be open to Moogfest pass holders throughout the Moogfest 2011 weekend (Oct. 28-30). Ticketing info, including hours of operation, can be found here. Details for Eno’s Illustrated Talk will be released in the coming weeks. Moogfest VIPs and Weekend pass holders will be given first opportunity to purchase tickets to the talk at reduced prices for a limited time. Any remaining tickets will be offered to the general public afterwards.
Is 77 Million Paintings going to be open to the public?
Yes, starting November 2nd the exhibition will be open to the general public. Ticketing info and hours of operation can be found here.
What can I expect at 77 Million Paintings?
77 Million Paintings is a visual and aural euphoria, which encourages the viewer to take time and immerse themselves into their surroundings. This installation is not intended for small children, loud talking and commotion so please be respectful of your fellow patrons.
Where will 77 Million Paintings be held?
The YMI Cultural Center (39 S. Market Street), walking distance to all Moogest activities, auditorium will be transformed into a throughly immersive experience.
Will Brian Eno be performing his music at Moogfest?
Outside of his infamous Illustrated Talk and world renowned art installation Brian Eno will not be performing past or current bodies of musical work.
How many concerts will take place during Moogfest?
There will be more than 60 artists performing throughout the course of the weekend, plus late night DJ sets, talks, exhibitions, installations, workshops, movies and more. Will I be able to see every show?
This is a festival and some shows will be going simultaneously, so there might be some difficult choices. Priority access will be given to VIP pass holders and admittance will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once a venue reaches capacity, we will move to a one-in, one-out policy. There will be several concert options at any given moment during the festival weekend.

How do I get to Moogfest and where is a good place to stay?
Visit our Travel Info page for details on the closest airports, hotels, campgrounds and everything in between. Additionally we are offering Travel Packages to make life even easier.
Do I need to rent a car if I fly or take the bus?
It’s up to you. If you are staying in downtown Asheville, everything will be within walking distance. There are several airport shuttles and taxi services available to get to and from the airport. Asheville also has a public transit system that includes trolleys and buses, visit exploreasheville.com for more info.

Will alcohol be available at each event?
Venues that traditionally sell alcohol will be making it available for purchase during the festival. Photo identification and wristbanding are required to purchase alcohol. Please be aware that the City of Asheville does not allow open containers outside. It’s Ashevegas, but it ain’t Vegas. Please be sure to finish your beverages before exiting any of our venues.
Can I bring a camera?
Disposable and small digital photography will be allowed, but anything with a removable lens is not permitted. Audio and video recording devices are prohibited. Additionally, please be respectful of other patrons and the artists when using your camera and try not to use your flash.
Will there be in-and-out privileges at each show?
Yes, all credentialed patrons will be allowed to freely flow from show to show. Due to capacity restrictions, if you leave a show that is at capacity, you may have to wait in line to get back in.
Will I be searched coming in to each show?
All patrons are subject to search upon entry or re-entry into every show.
What can I bring and what is prohibited?
What’s ACCEPTABLE: Small backpack or purse, small umbrella, camera with non-removable lens. Please remember, everyone and his or her backpack/purse is subject to search.
What’s PROHIBITED: Drugs, controlled substances, alcohol, outside food or drink (including sealed water bottles), weapons, firearms, glowsticks, laser pointers, large frame backpacks, video recording equipment, tri-pods, audio recording equipment, chairs, coolers, contraband, unauthorized merchandise and fireworks. Any person attempting to enter the venues with any of the item(s) above will be refused access, or at the venue’s discretion, allowed to give up the prohibited item(s) before entry. Confiscated items will be destroyed or given away at the venue’s discretion.
Is there a lost and found?
Yes, the lost and found will be located at our central hub. More details will be released at a later date.
Is your festival ADA accessible?
Yes, but the exact accessibility specifications are venue-based. Please contact each venue for their specifications.
Do you offer any ticket discounts?
Discounts in general (i.e. students, military, elderly, professional organizations, government, etc) are not something we are offering at this time. We have worked extremely hard to keep the price down and value high for everyone with the number of quality performers that we are bringing to the festival.
How can I volunteer or become a member of the Street Team for Moogfest?
Currently we are only accepting spots for our street team but opportunities for volunteer positions may come available closer to the festival. To have a shot at a volunteer position you must be a member of our street team, to sign up click here and be sure you check the Moogfest box when creating your profile. Top performers on our street team will have priority for volunteer positions and will be eligible for merchandise, schwag or event tickets to the festival.
